Violence, or Violence: Six sideways reflections is a book written by the Slovenian intellectual and cultural critic Slavoj Žižek that addresses the role of violence within modern society, approaching it in terms of Objective and Subective violence. He analyses the violence in all forms. He made a difference between "Objective" and "Subjective" violence. Objective violence is that which is directly and evident, the wars, the represion, etc. And in the other hand, the subjective violence is the violence ejerced by capitalism, which is much more brutal, because it is social, it is present since we born and until we die. One type of violence is easyly detected and the other it is not, thats why the subjective violence is much more powerful, brutal and effective.
