Blue Heart was written by Caryl Churchill and copyrighted in 1997. The play is two one act plays. The first play, Heart’s Desire, is about a family waiting on the arrival of their daughter Suzy. The second play Blue Kettle, is about a man named Derek who goes around telling women they're his mother because he was adopted at birth. The women believe him and truly find ways to tell him the way he is their son.
The first play in the piece is called Heart's Desire which is about a family who is waiting on their daughter Suzy. She is coming home to visit from Australia where she is located now. It starts off with her parents Brian her father and Alice her mother and her aunt Maisie waiting on her. Brian is saying that she is taking her time to get there and how he felt that they should’ve met her at the airport. While Alice is telling to just wait she will make it as soon as she can The main Characters of the plays are Brian and Alice of Heart Desire. In the play Blue Kettle the main character is Derek.
The second play in the piece is called Blue Kettle which is about a man named Derek who goes around telling the women they're his mother because he was adopted at birth.
