『鏡の国のアリス』は、1871年に発表されたルイス・キャロルの児童小説。『不思議の国のアリス』の続編であり、前作では不思議の国を冒険した少女アリスが、今作では鏡を通り抜けて異世界に迷い込む。前作と同様、文中には様々な言葉遊びやパロディがちりばめられているが、即興で作られた話がもととなっている前作とは異なり、はじめから出版を意図して作られた今作の物語はより知的な構成がとられており、アリスをはじめとする登場人物たちはチェスのルールに従って、桝目で区切られた鏡の国の中を行き来する。 …
