『メノン』はプラトンの初期末の対話篇である。副題は「徳について」。 『メノン』は執筆時期的にも内容的にも『ソクラテスの弁明』や『ラケス』といったプラトンの初期対話篇と『饗宴』『国家』などの中期対話篇の結節点に当たる位置を占めており、初期対話篇的な特徴を有しつつも中期対話篇でより詳しく洗練された形で語られるアイディア――想起説、「真理」と「思いなし」の区別、仮設法など――が荒削りではあるが述べられている。 …
