For more than 30 years, self-taught artist Etienne Delessert has been translating ideas, passions, fantasies and nightmares into the visual language of magazine and book illustration, posters, animated films and paintings. Throughout his career, Delessert's work has won acclaim around the world and in 1975 his one-man retrospective hung at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, part of the Louvre. This volume contains a sampling from the many fields of Delessert's endeavours. More than 140 illustrations and six essays by renowned colleagues and critics explore the breadth and depth of his work from his children's book "The Endless Party" to his award-winning "Ashes Ashes".
