This book is hard to read and a boring in places. It likes to ramble in places and doesn’t always make sense. Despite this, it was a good read. It was amazingly set up, and it gets amazingly great toward the end, and just feels like the author knew what he was talking about. Everything was very meticulously done, and made you question things you have never even thought about. It was horrifying in the best possible way. The book was at least interesting to read despite pacing issues and long world-building segments, and has an important message that everyone should learn.
So, 1984 it was. When I finished this book, I had this brilliant idea of writing a long, well-thought and insightful killer-review. But whenever I sat down, starting to type, I just couldn't do it. Thoughts would rush through my brain, exploding like bombs. So I'll keep it simple:
Please read this book. It will be a painful, horrible, somewhat disgusting experience. It will hurt. It may haunt you. It may scare you. Maybe it will come to your pillow. Maybe you will get a little paranoid for a couple of days, looking over your shoulder more often than you would usually do. But worst of all, it will make you question everything. And that is so important. Now, maybe more than ever. And you know what's even more worse? People told me, that they had this "Now maybe more than ever"-thought 20 years ago. And 25 years ago. And 30 years ago.
So please, read this. In it's unpleasent way, it's brilliant.
"Now maybe more than ever" - this is excactly the way I feel now.
I didn't have this feeling so much at the time I read the book - maybe because at that time I saw it more related to history, especially as there are quite a few links to (russian) history. Disturbing...

Although George Orwell is a pessismist author, his book presents how the human beings can degrade themselves for power, power for power itself.

A história é muito boa, mas o livro fica é muito descritivo e acaba ficando repetitivo demais.
