West From Home is the last original Little House book by American author Laura Ingalls Wilder to be published, although the material was written before Little House in the Big Woods. The book consists of Wilder's letters to her husband Almanzo Wilder during her visit to their daughter Rose Wilder Lane in San Francisco in 1915, when she was 49 and Rose 29. Laura was sent to write about the 1915 World's Fair.
