Auch wenn es in dem Buch um Krieg im Weltraum geht, so ließt es sich doch auch ein wenig wie Utopia: Heinlein stellt sich eine neue Form von Politik und ein noch neuere Form der Ethik und Moral vor. Zwischen solchen tiefgründigen Passagen gibt es Weltraumaction, Schlachten und Science Fiction.
