Shūsaku Endo

An early novel written some 30 years ago, The Girl I Left Behind tells of the choices made by young adults who are learning who they are and what they want in life. Endo's compact, emotionally lacerating novel Silence is currently being made into a film by Martin Scorsese.

The Samurai is a novel by Japanese author Shusaku Endo first published in 1980. It tells a fictionalized story of a 17th-century diplomatic mission to "Nueva España" by Japanese noblemen, and the cultural clash that ensues. The main character is Hasekura Rokuemon.

Silenzio è un romanzo dello scrittore giapponese Shūsaku Endo del 1966; l'opera propone come tema di sfondo le persecuzioni a carico dei cristiani durante il periodo Tokugawa, a seguito della Rivolta di Shimabara. In Italia il romanzo è stato pubblicato da Rusconi Libri nel 1982.
