Unfortunately this novel does stand out as Brom's introductory adult fantasy novel, but you can definitely see the glints of what he will achieve in later works. There's a bit too much grime on this particular novel to let it really shine though. That being said though, Brom is definitely a consistently fantastic artist, and I'm definitely going to be on the look out for an art book from him.
