Rising '44: The Battle for Warsaw is a history book about the Warsaw Uprising, written by the English historian Norman Davies. One controversy about this book is that Davies consciously anglicised most of proper names in the book in order to bring its reality closer to the English reader and help them concentrate on the story, rather than difficult Polish names. The book is written in a vivid and emotional style.
