Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

por Cheryl Strayed

Resumen

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER

At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and she would do it alone. Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.

Everyone has a reason to start such an adventure, might it be a loss, a personal crisis, faith or even sport. Since I walked the way of St. James the PCT or the Appalachian trail in general fascinated me. Cheryl Strayed shows us in her book what her long distance walk experience was. This was quite interesting and impressive. Unfortunately she wrote, in my opinion, way too much about her past and the trouble within her family. If this was a bit less I would leave a higher rating.

Cheryl's hability to put into words all the emotions and feelings towards the PCT and her life can touch whoever reads the book in a such a beautiful way, that you can feel all the fragilities of the human race in all of her words. This is an incredible book, i never thought i would love reading someone else story that much! Thank you Cheryl!

I love this book. One of my favorites. It's a memoir about the journey that a woman makes through the Pacific Crest Trail alone. It's also a journey through her life and we follow her as she navigates her way to self-acceptance and forgiveness.
