It continues the story of the extended Henry family and the Jastrow family starting on 15 December 1941 and ending on 6 August 1945. This novel was adapted into the mini-series, War and Remembrance, presented on American television in 1988. Wouk was a screenwriter of the miniseries as well as the author of the original book.
